Lily Earns Her Wings is a fable that teaches children, on a moral level, to help someone in need and to be thankful when on the receiving end of the help. On a younger level, it teaches the child to recognize colors, animals, and objects. Lily is a sweet butterfly born without color on her wings. She helps everyone she meets. Each scene is represented by another color, which then appears on her wings until she is filled with colors. Eventually, Lily is lost and other colorless butterflies help her. They too earn their colors and fly off.
