Constance Moore is on a mission to fulfill her promise to a former student. She must find her illustrious stepmother to get the promised signed photo for the critically ill child. While on this mission, Connie literally bumps into Nicholas Manning, putting her into the sights of Nicholas and his young son Nathan. Her stepmother, Angelica, knowing of her fetish to keep promises, uses that knowledge to coerce her into agreeing to look after Nicholas's son. Angelica wants Nicholas for herself and needs Nathan occupied to leave her more time with Nicholas. Connie is caught between the two of them and has to circumvent their dominant personalities to keep the peace. Her quest becomes all the harder when she realizes she's falling in love with Nicholas, the man her stepmother covets.
