Concrete Jungle tells a story of New York City through the eyes of a young African-American woman who often feels disconnected from the world around her. In an attempt to become intimate with her surroundings she decides to investigate her city; its atmosphere, and the people who inhabit it. She forges a journey that brings her up close and personal with the city she never really understood, until now. What emerges is a novel of investigative poetry, artwork and photography that chronicles her experiences; both external and internal.
