Duke Ellington described her voice as a mixture of Ella Fitzgerald, Marian Anderson, Dinah Washington & Mahalia Jackson. Best known for her work with Ellington, Greenwood recorded these tracks for Modern Records & Federal Records between 1950 & 1953. The Modern tracks were backed by Roy Milton's Solid Senders, while backing on the Federal cuts come from Little Willie Littlefield & the Johnny Otis Band, among others. 22 tracks.
