Summer '81

The story of Marta Galdamez, a 1980's immigrant from El Salvador. Told through reflections of her multiple attempts to immigrate to the United States as well as her first few months living in Los Angeles. Marta touches on topics of belonging, socio-political issues, war, race, culture, and education. She takes the reader through her mental and emotional journey that took place in the summer of 1981.
