Two men of similar backgrounds disappear from their normal environments as the result of individual encounters with an uncertain energy source. They resurface months later to select and put a family into a test situation designed by the energy beings. The family selected sets off on a sailing trip to Baja California. The two men put the family and their boat into a parallel universe where they have to contend with things out of normal. They face their fears and thoughts while contending with the strange events. The two men then discover they may also be a part of the test when they are seemingly abandoned by the energy beings. They conclude that with their own arrival in the situation that they have done a wrong. They decide to join with the family to attempt to right the wrong that has been committed and restore matters to their original state. Glenn Goddard is an experienced offshore sailor who works and lives in Sacramento, California.
