In 1685, James, Duke of Monmouth, was defeated at the Battle of Sedgemoor, bringing to an end the Pitchfork Rebellion. It is generally accepted that his claim to the throne was not validSuppose that Monmouths claim was true Suppose that one of his descendants, a rich, powerful man, devised a plan to avenge his ancestor and seize the throne of England. A man wealthy enough to possess his own army and powerful enough to set it up in England right under the nose of the authorities. How could such a man be stopped and who could stop him. Momentous events are often determined by insignificant actions, chance meetings, casual remarks, being in the right or wrong place at the right or wrong time. Fortunately, Mike Logan, late of No. 22 Regiment, SAS and now operating the Provincial Eye private inquiry agency, just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Provincial Eye relates the story of how Mike Logan, together with a few of his ex-Regiment mates and the woman who once haunted his past, become involved in this dastardly plot and the desperate actions that have to be taken in order to prevent its success.
