A widowed author writes himself out of a "black hole" depression by recreating his late wife in a humorous novel. He misses her so much and finds her "new life" so delightful that he writes himself into the script. Then, through a mysterious link in his computer, he literally disappears into the fictional world he has created. Now and then he returns to write dying loved ones into the script or to effect happier outcomes for loved ones in his new world. The novel takes place on three levels and uses three different voices.
