A young girl's mother commits suicide on her 16th birthday. Soon after her father sends her to live with a Grandmother she's never met on a mysterious island in the Gulf of Mexico 36 miles from the Louisiana Coast. Once there she encounters a woman more harsh and cruel than anyone she's ever known yet at the same time begins to piece together the fragments of her family's past. A past more bizarre and intriguing than anything she could have imagined. Yet the real clues to her family's past lay hidden within an abandoned house hidden deep within the cypress swamp.
