The Sword of the Lord

British Colonel Patrick Ferguson and an American buckskin army had a date with destiny at Kings Mountain, North Carolina on October 7, 1780. This novel is about the men and women who fought at Kings Mountain and the events that brought them there. The Sword of the Lord is the story of American Patriots Isaac Shelby and John Sevier, who organized and financed the buckskin army that fought against the British at Kings Mountain; the novel is also the story of Patrick Ferguson, who traveled the uplands of Georgia and the Carolinas in 1780 as the King's charismatic recruiter of American hill people to the British standard. Ferguson was accompanied by two mistresses, Virginia Sal and Virginia Paul, who traveled with him and fought beside him. The Battle of Kings Mountain was a critical battle that sealed the fate of the British Army in the south, and paved the way for the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown in October, 1781.
