This delightful sonatina cleverly weaves the familiar Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star folk tune into the melody in the first and third movements. In three movements, the faster outer movements are written in the key of G major while the slow and expressive middle movement is written in E minor. Elements and compositional devices typical of the sonatina style are used throughout, making this piece an excellent choice for a student's first sonatina.
