Three ex-U. S. Air Force men recruit the daughter of a British aircraft company executive, herself a Royal Air Force test pilot, to attempt the recovery of three World War II German jet fighter planes from a partially bombed-out underground asembly plant. With a rogue German policeman moving to stop them, they attempt to escape and secretly fly the antique planes to England. A crippled and reclusive ex-Luftwaffe fighter pilot initially opposes the Americans, but fearing that the German government will jail him, he joins in the adventure to covertly fly the ancient planes to England. But is he honestly helping, and will the antiquated aircraft make it?
