The Green Lamp

Marc Notes: The Green Lamp, its title inspired by a 19th Century, Russian literary journal of the same name, brings to light a wonderfully insightful collection of what can only be categorized as Americanized Russian Lit. Motivated by his love of Russian literature, Zakharin has blended tone and content from some of Russia's greatest writers with his own enigmatic and often absurd humor, indicating influences from other motivational sources such as Steve Martin or Monty Python. Including parodies of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina and Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, The Green Lamp shines forth with Zakharin's clever--and sometimes disturbing--wit and wisdom, and his unique perspectives on life and literature--PR.com.; Includes bibliographical references. Contributor Bio:  Zakharin, Mishka Mishka Zakharin is the author of over a dozen collections of poetry and short fiction, as well as his on-going series of journalish ramblings 'Daemon Mishka'. Born (in 1970) and raised (or perhaps "razed") and continuing to exist in Wisconsin, Zakharin received his Bachelor of Arts at UW-Whitewater in 1992 - and deems his degree in English as a kind of "license to kill," proof of his qualification to advance the English language through his writing endeavors... more of his contributions to 21st Century Lit. may be experienced at The Official Mishka Zakharin Website: www.zmishka.com.
