The faexie queen has banished banana slugs from Redwood Isle, and dead material buries the forest floor. Through a resulting tragedy, the banana slugs have an opportunity to return. Queen Elena Darkwing, however, has a plan for the detritus that will threaten the banana slugs and a faexie family living in an ancient stump: Burn the isle floor! Tara, a 12-year old, wingless faexie, must venture farther and higher than any faexie has to save her family and Redwood Isle.
