Desperate for a job in the summer of 1979, two college friends decided to sell educational books door-to-door, on commission, 1,500 miles away from home. It was a ridiculous thing to do, and everyone told them so. But they did it anyway, and proceeded to have one of the greatest adventures of their lives. With barely $100 between them, and no idea what they were getting into, they embarked on a surreal journey across America and ended up in a place neither one of them had ever heard of, doing things they could never have imagined.
