Losing her parents and sister within months of each other, then watching her husband walk out on her had been enough drama to last Katiana Helmick a lifetime. However, more comes her way when she finds a magical medallion and is transported to Zafora; a world with alien customs, diseases, and dangers.



The people of Zafora believe that being in possession of the magic medallion makes Katiana a Liberator, and they look to her to save their planet from its perils. Like it or not until she finds a way to do this, all while evading those out to stop her, she has no chance of returning to her own world.



Kat is a simple librarian, but she knows the power of words. If there is one way to solve both problems of healing the dying people and returning home, it will be through the power of the books she can now control. But will this be enough to ensure their survival and take her back to Earth?
