Honey bees are social animals that live in large groups. The workers, drone and queen bees all have special jobs to assist the hive in ensuring that the colony continues to thrive. The worker bee, drone and queen all lay hundreds of layers of wax cells that become the foundation of the honeycomb. The male worker drone's main job is to mate with the receptive female bee, which will result in thousand of offspring.
