Michael GoveThis is not a book of quotes, although a book can be entirely devoted to highlight the importance of language. No human endeavor is complete without language. The purpose of this book is for parents to realize how fast we are losing out on the battle with technology. It can be a great servant but without the control of language we may end up being enslaved. We will examine the role of language in an increasingly dynamic world with shrinking boundaries. It is highly probable that your child will work with people of different nationalities. Different languages bring along different cultural view points. For your children to succeed in the future they must learn to respect these languages driven cultural differences. Again, we will also look at how you can be of support and act as a catalyst for your child in acquiring languages. A Language is acquired, not learnt. We will discuss this at length in the book and how you can make difference in the growth and development of your child. There are techniques and best practices that make language learning fun, easy and rapid. You will have an opportunity to learn how to use some of these techniques and support your children. Acquiring and mastering ones mother tongue and other regional languages is a crucial aspect of growth. Your children will lose out in the long run if they have disconnected with their own tongue. Ignore this at your own peril. I am sure as a parent you only mean well and the best for your child. And you will learn with this book how to lock this without being intruding or a nosy interruption. The point is to make it fun and inculcate a habit without being forceful. My request is for you to go out and spread the word. Language is for communication and for communities. Don't be a lone wolf. Share and invite people to participate with you. Read the book and create your own family plan and then spread it around. Along with your own children, kids from the neighborhood can also participate.
