Civilizations never stay static. Small changes constantly happen, and paradigms shift over the years. In some places, the changes are quite more rapid than the normal. In this book, we explore one of such places in brief. The last small train of Katwa pays a first-person descriptive homage to the last narrow-gauge train that traveled between Burdwan and Katwa, two towns in eastern part of India. It also pays a homage to the town of Katwa, an old town with a history of 500 years, and one which is famous for its temples and the confluence of two rivers, the Ganges and Ajay. This book is not about factual history and statistics about the train or Katwa. This book is about a glimpse from start to the finish, with commentary about the people, customs and unique architecture of the objects of interests caught in the camera. There are numerous photographs, as per the old saying "a picture is worth a thousand words". We hope the reader gets a bird's eye view of the train and the town in this book and understand some of the nuances of traditions that have a long history, in this part of the globe. Happy reading!
