But with time, she makes the most of a prickly situation by looking on the bright side and focusing on what a cactus can do. She names her cactus Prickle, and an unlikely friendship quickly blooms. Readers follow the duo as they share everyday adventures. Lynette learns Prickle is way more fun than she ever imagined. This story was inspired by a class pet Cactus. The children who inspired this story accepted the responsibility of caring for their cactus. Spike currently resides in room 10.
