In vain, in vain, to rouse your languid leisure, Ye waste ancestral stores, Starring with gold your wide-domed halls of pleasure, And treading pictured floors. In vain from show to show ye drive unsated, And sights of gay surprise; The soul's high hunger rests all unabated From gaze of wondering eyes.
