The engraved dedication leaf is dated 1791, and the plates are variously dated from 1791 to 1794 ; possibly published in parts. 'A companion to the altar', London: printed for J. Good, and E. Harding, has separate titlepage, pagination and register, and 'A new version of the Psalms .. By N. Brady, .. and N. Tate, .. ', London : printed for J. Good, and E. Harding, has separate titlepage and register ; both works are called for in the table of contents. With occasional very brief notes in the 'Book of common prayer' and the 'Companion' set low on the page so as to enable them to be cut off by the binder if desired.
