The Modern Slavery Act consolidated previous offences relating to trafficking and slavery. USA, Nigeria, Algeria, India, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mauritania, Malaysia, UK Prime Minister has argued more needs to be done to tackle this growing problem. Countries with modern-day slavery includes China, Oman, Qatar, Mauritania, Bahrain, Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belgium, UK, Italy, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, DR Congo, Cameroon, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Italy. UK have launched a campaign to raise more awareness of modern-day slavery in the United Kingdom. British Government gives £33.5m boost to global slavery direct interventions to support vulnerable victims and instructed the law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice.
