Star Light Star Bright begins in the early 70's when women are finding their place in the business world and men were finding women more as equals. Cassie is a young woman whose dreams of being a Hollywood movie star become more important than her relationship with her high school sweetheart. Using her God given gifts she tries to land a leading role in a film, but only manages to land the role of a pregnant woman. After the movie director shuns her and pays her for her silence, she follows Peter to New York in the hopes that he will accept her and her unborn child. She makes each man believe that the baby is his, and so starts the beginning of her use of her child for personal gain. Unbeknownst to Cassie, Peter has found another love, and he and Aspen are making plans behind Cassie's back on how to stay together without letting Cassie find out.
