In each lifetime in some form or another, each of us has encountered abuse, whether emotionally, physically or sexually. At that time when the abuse occurs, we can choose to confront and deal with the issue, or we can let it fester into adult life, causing severe problems in our adult relationships, sometimes tragically. But, You Said You Loved Me shows how carelessly the word Love can be misused and abused. In realty we all have a tendency, to express our love for that person, but do our actions really express the true nature of our emotions? The old adage, actions speak louder then words, is true. If we express one thing and act in a different way, then there is confusion and doubt, as we emotiona1ly mature from childhood into adulthood. The insecurity from that period of growth in a lifetime will manifest it's self, in different ways. Most always, by having a Jekyl and Hyde disposition later in life. Saying one thing, yet doing something else. The characters in But, You Said You Loved Me, were guilty of just that.
