He is green, seventeen, soon to be eighteen, and must register for the draft. He is impatiently waiting to be twenty-one, more to legally drink than to vote. It is a year of pressures. He wants to succeed in college and be part of a group, but has doubts about succumbing to the whims of that group. He must deal with the threat of the Korean War, and the loss of friends to that war.
