Ernest Raymond
Ernest Raymond (1888-1974) was a British novelist, best known for his 1922 book, Tell England, about the First World War and the young men sent to fight in it. His next biggest success was We, The Accused which was made into a BBC drama starring Ian Holm in 1980. Raymond's post-war autobiography, Please You, Draw Near, was published in 1969. He was awarded an OBE in 1972, and died in 1974. Other works by him include Damascus Gate (1923) and The Shout of the King (1924).
