In Bird's Eye is a story about someone who is filled with both ability to get things done and self-doubt. The Hero is as much hindered by himself as he is with slogans and sayings which he doesn't quite get and allows himself and his thinking to be some what controlled by them. The main character has what it takes to become successful, and through a series of flashbacks, the reader is shown glimpses of his attitude, his life, and his conflicts-both regarding himself, others, and society. Der Bogosian ultimately portrays a fun, easy toread, human element story, but one of internal struggle more than traditional external conflict. Although there are many various scenes, it all comes together near the end with The Duel withthe Devil, and especially a trial scene against Keats Gegenschein who is the Hero himself representative of society. Some readers have termed the Gegenschein trial as the 'summit climb' to the book's 'approach.' Another said that some of the scenes seem to have echoes as diverse as Goethe's "Faust." Most readers comment that In Bird's Eye is a page-turner as well as an escape. Almost all say that it is a worthwhile read.
