Long thought lost to a Conquistador's shipwreck, five priceless statues are stolen from a private collector on the upper crust island of Nahant, just north of Boston. That same night a moon lighting Everett policeman is thoughtlessly murdered at Boston's Logan International Airport. Seemingly, no connection exists between the two crimes until an Everett Police Sergeant and three old High School friends start to put the pieces together. Once again, the now big-time Boston reporter, his almost never working private investigator friend and the woman who looks over these two aging adventurers embark on the trail of evil-and evil, in many shapes has come to Everett. When Pete Webster's "military hero" brother asks him to find his stolen, but uninsurable, Mayan statues a tidal wave is unleashed that threatens the lives of everyone who comes in contact with, not just the statues, but anyone who tries to possess them. A cast of suspicious characters: a Mexican Minister of Antiquities, a smarmy antiques dealer, assorted hoods, bag men and a nightmare straight from the Yucatanare all interested in possessing the ancient relics using intimidation, deception and murder to acquire these priceless pieces of history from the glorious Mayan empire.
