Donald Reid, Hanz Eliot, and Karl Downey all descendents of Margaret Eliot of |Ireland, but finding love with a young Mormon wife, Rachael Gilbert and the others with Elvira Luna and Raquel Garcia in Mexico. The ambition of Mexican President Santa Anna leading to the Battle of the Alamo and others as he enjoyed his licentious life with many women. Trying to expel all Americans from his country.

How Charlotte and Roy Marshall with Fay Le Saye expanded their investments in shipping and railways, helped the romance of engineer Gordon Taylor, whilst their relative, Donald Reid courted his Rachael finally establishing his own company in San Francisco.

All events are historically accurate but the story is about love and lovers as the United States craves for new space for its inhabitants.
