Originally published in 1887 by McLoughlin Brothers of New York, this collection includes some favorites from the two books "Freaks and Frolics of Little Girls" and "Freaks and Frolics of Little Boys" and adds some new ones too. The 33 lavishly illustrated rhyming stories feature children misbehaving and learning a lesson from their mischief. In her introductory note, author Josephine Pollard explains that her purpose is not to teach children new naughty things to do, but rather to recognize themselves in the descriptions and correct their faults.
