The small town of Sedan holds a dark secret in its idyllic midst. Are local legends true...is the Hollow a hunting ground for nocturnal beasts? Seven children have disappeared in the recorded years between 1882 and 1974. Now, a sudden storm has forced four young cousins into the Hollow's forbidding cave. With ancient petrographs leading them into the mysterious depths, will the inadvertent adventurers' discovery of a fabled time portal lead to freedom...or doom?

Cast into the Kansas of long ago, a perilous land of inland seas and palm studded islands, the foursome must use their wits and talents to survive history's most frightening ambush predators. Reptilian sea monsters and giant sharks lurk in watery shadows. Pteranodons the size of small airplanes glide on Jurassic wings while woolly mammoths and tyrannosaurs stalk the lands. But the most terrifying denizens of the ancient tallgrass prairie were the native 'Children of the Middle Waters'; the fierce, tattooed warriors of the Grand Osage.
