The Reluctant Lover
Stephen Mckenna
Stephen McKenna's (1888-1967) writing career was launched in 1912 with The Reluctant Lover, described by the New York Times as "Quite smart as to its conversations is this rather lengthy tale of many loves and lovers. It is mostly composed of talk, and its people are constantly saying clever things. The scenes take place in English country houses, in London ballrooms, and in the apartments of eligible bachelors who seem to have little to do but exchange opinions on the subject of matrimony."
