Letters from a Senator Charles E. Miller
Letters from a Senator
Charles E. Miller
These letters satirize the corruption practiced by a long time Senator. A young lawyer named Francois de Ravage has accepted Senator Pontificus as his mentor and plans, with the Senator's instruction and influence, to enter the Congress. The vote of the people appears to bear little weight in the process. The invisible author has discovered these letters bundled in a discarded safe in a neighboring junk yard where he went in search of a vintage steering wheel. The Senator makes clear his duplicity and his hope that his protégé will follow his steps.
