Publisher Marketing: The President's Anointed is a political thriller that takes the reader into one of the world's most intriguing but relatively little exposed subjects; the mystery behind schematizations of African leaders and their cohorts to remain in power. After succumbing to immense pressures from the public and international community against his tyrannical regime, the President eventually allowed democracy and won subsequent two contentious presidential elections. However he's now illegible for re-election into a third term of office and fears retribution for human rights violations and a litany of corruption scandals if he leaves office. He's in a dilemma between gambling an unpopular decision of manipulating the constitution to secure a third term of office or to anoint a successor. Together with his Inner Circle, they earmark Anusa Limu, his Minister of Agriculture, to succeed the President. The Director General of Special Branch; the intelligence arm of the National Police Service, Colonel McLeod Jawadu, is tasked to put Anusa Limu under 24 hour surveillance to screen his suitability especially to protect them before he is informed of his anointment and eventually endorsed at the party's convention. Meanwhile one of the members of the President's Inner Circle plots to tip Anusa Limu secretly with his brother, Director of Intelligence in the Malawi Defense Force, Major General Justus Gama. The story is intertwined with shrewd political maneuvering right from State House to surreptitious venues scattered across the country, espionage and counter espionage, action, and some illegitimate sex scandal. It portrays the desperation and extent at which some African leaders are willing to stop at nothing to safeguard their personal interests!
