The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Side of Black Women
Yvette Wright
My name is Yvette Shalon Johnson-Wright. I was born in Los Angeles, California. I am a stay at home mom, with four awesome boys who are excelling in school. My boys are my pride and joy. I am married to a wonderful man, Dale L. Wright Sr. I attended George Washington Preparatory High school. I was raised by a single mother, Ethel L.
Lucas, who worked very hard to give my four brothers and I a good life. While in the 8th grade, I discovered that my passion is writing, especially poetry. I have been working on my fi rst novel for nine years.
I have a few works of poetry published, being a self taught writer. I aim for compelling, emotional, extremely raw and honest work. Straight to the point, from the heart. My writing comes from a source of pain and disappointment, because of the harsh environment I was raised in, South Central, LA. Writing was my way of escaping the brutality of my surroundings. I now reside in Palmdale, Caliornia, with my family.
Here is where I have been most at peace in my life. I know I will see my boys through college, having nailed the ambition into their minds.
I now hold on to God?s word and grace that whatever is his will, I will do. I hope to continue writing many more gripping novels. Enjoy.
