"Cleanse All My Guilty Stains" is set in 1960s London. A butler is forced to confront his painful war memories when his employer seems to have a penchant for evoking them. "Affirmative Action" is the story of a poor black man's ascent into the middle class - helped by a kindly old Jewish man - but soon discovers that the road to the American dream is not without its bumps and potholes.
