From naming Elijah?s depression it proceeds to explain his depression as a disintegration of his identity story. It traces the development of the identity story of ?I am the only one? through the various high points of his life until it crashes under the broom tree in the desert. A new identity, story, found at Horeb, allows Elijah?s story and life to continue.
