Poems of Now and Then: a Poetry Collection

Lorenzo (Lawrence) Schechterman has had a number of careers and says he is not yet done. The singular thing which has followed him since his teen years has been his zest for writing poems. He is a published writer and among many other works is his tongue and cheek approach to the cookbook he wrote In the Mood with Food, A Bachelor's Guide to Wooing Her With Food. Asked what motivates and inspires him to write poetry his reply was "There have been, and more likely than not, will be moments where my head becomes flooded with a reaction to all that is around me and that which is within me. I just try to give vent to those senses when I come to understand them". His interest in discovery of life has no bounds from writing professional articles in law, his poetry, and freelance travel writing/photography. A friend once remarked that he was "a man for all seasons". In typical fashion he blushed and thought that was an overstatement. His poems have previously been published in New Dimensions, An Anthology of American Poetry, Idlewild Publishing Co. (1967), The National Library of Poetry publications: Surrounded by Dreams (1998), Touched by Grace (1999), The Harmony of Silence (2000), Forever Spoken (2007), The International Who?s Who in Poetry (2007), Collected Whispers (2008), and, The Best Poems and Poets of 2007 (2008). Lorenzo is a Member of The Professional Writers Alliance and the American Writer's & Artists, Inc. and that he has been mentioned in Who's Who and Who's Who In The World.
