His book Legend of the Werewolf (Picture Window Books, 2011) received a bronze medal for the Moonbeam Children's Book Award. Thomas lives in Woodbury, Minnesota with his wife and two young boys. Contributor Bio: Toye, Derek Derek was always drawing funny pictures as a kid and that has turned into a wonderful career as a concept designer and children's book illustrator. He is constantly looking for fun and whimsical moments to capture in his illustrations. By day, he works as a concept designer in the animation Industry and by night, he pursues his passion for children's book illustration. Derek lives in Vancouver, Canada. He recently became a proud father of a baby girl and loves to spend time her, his wife and going for long walks with their dog.
