"Kiln Kountry" - Home of Brett Favre by Dan Ellis portrays the old Cowshed Saloon on its cover. The Kiln's heritage is a relic from being the Moonshine Capital of the World and currently the nationally designated Home of Brett Favre. In years past it supported the Largest Sawmill in the South. With hundreds of photos and maps from the days of Indians, Pirates, and Colonial settlers, to the shipbuilding days as Schooners made their way through Bays, Bayous, and Rivers. And recently, as a neighbor to N. A. S. A. and the Stennis Space Center, Tourists and Retirees visit or settle in the area to fish, swim, and go boating, oystering, and shrimping.
