An exciting adventure love story set in the tropical Whitsunday Islands in Australia. Jim has lost his purpose in life; divorced and estranged from his daughter and living as a drunk aboard his ex-charter yacht. Out of the blue he gets a new charter to take a family for a holiday treat. He meets Paulene, and they fall in love - something she seems to expect would happen. The romance flourishes as they seem very suited to each other, and it turns out that they almost met when much younger, but fate somehow to get in the way. During a romantic weekend together sailing around the exotic islands he finds out that his daughter, ex-wife and her husband are also sailing nearby. When he goes to meet them he discovers a terrible tragedy and shocking secret. Jim is forced to deal with the crises which means he loses Paulene, but find so much more, and especially learns the importance of self determination and the value of getting up before being woken by the heat of the sun.
