From the opening page through the last page, this is the story of our great old family ranch, a sheep ranch, as it snuggled beneath Abert Rim, in the high-desert country of south-central Oregon from the opening days of World War II through the end of 1949, as seen through my eyes, (my eyes being the eyes of a young child.)
