Publisher Marketing: "Mahabharata"the great Indian epic narrates an eternal war between the "Good" and the "Bad." Over the millenniums, billions of Indian populi have gone through the story that made the basis of their morality. In common notion, Krishna, the chief architect of the force warring on behalf of the "Good" was an "Avtar," a human face of God. Naturally, all that happened is considered to be the will of the God. Thus the epic, in stead of a great depiction of eternal contradictions, is mostly regarded as religious teachings. But the fate of the war, however destined it may be, does not take the shape automatically. It needs the vision, strong determination and above all sacrifices on personal issues. Without these nothing can prevail upon. Krishna would have easily remained reluctant like his elder brother Balarama. Equally Panchali, the common wife of all five sons of Kunti might have assorted to the easy life of a queen. But they did not. They sacrificed their own individual aspirations for the sake of a greater cause. Here all religious elements are wiped out of the characters like Krishna and Panchali and they are placed as human beings as like ours. And that makes the difference to other versions of the story.
