Suffolk is the first known location for the origin of the Peyton family; who held a "family seat" in very early times, which means they were granted lands by Duke William of Normandy, their liege lord, for their distinguished assistance at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A. D. Validated by their dwelling in the principle manor of a medieval lord which was normally an elegant country mansion, and the political and economic influences they held in the area. Fast forwarding to the twentieth century; Reverend James Halmon Peyton, my grandfather was the visionary for Fort Valley State University, in Fort Valley, Georgia. In the same fashion of his ancestors, he held the "family seat" for his next generation starting with his daughter Daisy, the "Cook-in-Chief" who cooked the first and last meal for Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States of America. I asked, "How does my life fit into this foundation for finding my purpose? If you want to know the purpose of a thing; don't ask the thing, ask the Maker of it. God created mankind in His image; as eternal beings, toward an eternal destiny.
