The RHIMES perspective is deeply rooted in Christianity. Those of us in spiritual leadership in RHIMES communities grew up in the Judeo-Christian tradition and we have not rejected the tradition even as we reject the current form it takes. We have, however, discovered that our exposure to other traditions has informed and enhanced our experience rather than diminished it. We have also come to see that God is not only bigger than any one tradition but also transcends them all. This means that to say that my religious perspective is the only right one is to start from a place of both ignorance and arrogance ? hardly an attractive foundation! There is a creative tension that results from this perspective, and to be sure not everyone is ready for it. For those who are, there is great opportunity to more forward into a much more holistic and affirming spirituality than many of us ever dreamed possible. We hope you will join us on the journey!
