Publisher Marketing: In this book, available as a paperback and e-book, I describe a journey, from Blackpool Tower to Timbuktu, and back again. It is a developmental journey, from boy to man. It starts from England's Fylde coast in Lancashire, whence I came. Here, in the North West region is the Victorian icon, Blackpool Tower, which, along with Liverpool's Liver Building, and Manchester's Town Hall, is un-deniably one of the UK's most prominent landmarks. Adventure was one thing, art another, but the main driver for the trip to Timbuktu was to help raise funds for research at the University of Edinburgh for FragileX. Further details can be found on the website, London to Timbuktu for Fragile X. The narrative of this book includes cars, world travel, mechanised society, auto- biography, and dealing with life itself. Most of all the tale is shoved along by the belief that the future is a wonderful place, and that each moment is freighted with the next step into the future. Moreover, that the past has to be seen in perspective to reference the future, and, above all, that we must cherish the present and live in it clutching dearly our ambitions, sharing progress and setbacks with our loved ones. In addition, not least, an underlying thread to this story is of trying to make dreams come true. Many a dream has swung around Blackpool Tower. In my book, Blackpool Tower stands for optimism. Blackpool laid on an exhibition of my work, Sacred Sites, in 1999, I am glad to maintain and build on this link. The town now owns one of my paintings, (Coconut Trees, Trinidad, Fig.95), in their permanent public collection of the Grundy Art Gallery. The town's Gazette has covered my arts projects generously. I am grateful to Blackpool. The specific journey to Timbuktu in 2011, started from St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, (Barts). However, because the narrative is spurred along by inspirational drives in my own biography, and because I was born near Blackpool, I have decided to entitle this book, From Blackpool Tower to Timbuktu, (and back again). Contributor Bio:  Gordon, Jerry Writing books for five years, studied art in London for ten years, exhibited paintings for twenty five years and travelled widely for forty years, the author has made a sharp contribution to the arts industry with this book..
