Banned in the Usa: Two Years an Illegal
Bryan Walsh
Publisher Marketing: This memoir is a series of essays chronicling the life of Mr. Walsh while living undocumented in the US, where his entire family now lives, till his ultimate deportation. The work serves as a valid look at America's broken immigration system as well as the trials and tribulations of an aspiring actor/comedian (if not a humorous look into the world of a single male in the early 21st Century!) Mr. Walsh was born in Ireland and raised in Canada. He studied History and Theatre at McGill University in Montreal, in addition to an internship at The Abbey Theatre Dublin. In 2008 he starred in the award-winning Canadian indie film The Limits. He has since made appearances in television series, Deceived (TV One), The Secret Lives of Stepford Wives (Discovery) and Quest for Gold (National Geographic). As a comedian he studied at Toronto's The Second City and Chicago's i.o. Theater. He has performed stand-up across Canada, the US, and the UK. Having performed three times at the Edinburgh Fringe and opened for leading Irish comedians such as Ardal O'Hanlon and Meave Higgins in the US. In 2014 he appeared at the Kansas City Irish Festival. In 2014 Mr. Walsh was the recipient of New York's Bad Theater Festival's 2014 Lenny Bruce Award for Stand-Up Comedy. Contributor Bio: Walsh, Bryan "BRYAN WALSH, a native of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, attended Princeton University, where he studied English and Creative Writing and graduated summa cum laude. At Princeton he was the 117th chairman of The Princeton Tiger, one of the nation's oldest collegiate humor magazines, and the managing editor of The Nassau Weekly. He has written for the popular men's magazine Maxim since 1999. He currently works in Hong Kong as a reporter for Time Asia magazine, where he writes arts and entertainment, book reviews, news and humor. He thinks Hong Kong is "hot" and, although he had a girlfriend when he began writing You Can't Give a Man Directions, he does not have one now (oddly enough). "
