The modern Bhishma and other stories is a collection of nine stories that portrays complexity of human emotions and human relations in modern India. Stories are based on the real life stories of various people writer had encountered in his lifetime. Each story depicts the world of a unique character and complex emotions characters feel. This book is published after writer's death in July 2014. The first story is about a man who keeps his vow in spite of temptations. The character of the story is compared to Modern Bhishma, an important character from Hindu epic "Mahabharata" as he keeps his vow till end of his life.
