- Cultural Competence Workbook: The Key to Loving One's Neighbor is a unique workbook designed for any and everyone who loves Jesus and understands the importance of caring and loving others. This book is meant to be done in small groups and can be used at home, at work, at play, or anywhere people gather. This workbook is to be done as a class or meeting. Each session provides questions for reflection and/or group exercises. This is NOT to be done alone. Each session will increase in content, in assignments, and go deeper in reflection, so dig deep and leave no stone unturned in your discussions. Utilize this workbook over 8 sessions, or longer, and journey with me as we explore biblical, theological, and ecclesiological implications of culture and take a deep dive into Cultural Intelligence (CQ), cultural values, and unconscious bias in order to better understand and place ourselves in a better position to love and care for our neighbor.




This book was conceived by the author because of a deep need for healing in America and in the Church. The author's belief is that one can see culture everywhere even if ethnicity is not seen. All churches are multicultural but may not be multiethnic. The same holds true in government, education, and every sphere of society. Therefore, we need to know and understand others' culture in order to fully love them unconditionally. This workbook is a discipleship tool because of its focus on small group interactions and discussions. Dr. Dee Stokes challenges you to participate in an 8-10-week session then take your knowledge, care, and love and do it all over again as the facilitator.
